Lee Kun-Hee, 1942 yılında Güney Kore'de doğmuştur. O Samsung Elektronics şirketinin kurucularındandır. 1996'da Lee, Uluslararası Olimpiyat Komisyonuna üye oldu. Ona 3.4 milyon dolar değer biçtiler. O ve ailesi böylece dünyanın en zengin ailelerinden biri oldular. O Samsung Elektroniğin kurucusu olan Lee Byung-Chull'un 3. çocuğudur. Evlidir ve 3 çocuk sahibidir.
