Eski B.A.P üyesi ‘Headache’ ile ilk çıkışını yapıyor
Dokuz yıllık şarkıcılık kariyeri olan dağılan erkek grubu B.A.P eski üyesi Moon Jong-up, geçtiğimiz hafta ilk solo single parçası "Headache" ile çıkış yaptı. Genç şarkıcı, geç bir başlangıç yaptığını ama bunun beklemeye değer olduğunu söyledi.
2012'de ki ilk çıkışından bu yana zorlu bir süreç geçiren B.A.P grubu, Şubat 2019'da dağıldı ve daha sonra her üye farklı bir yol çizdi. Moon, bir ajans yada bir menajerden destek almadan o zamandan bu yana gösteriler ve müzikaller için seçmelere katıldı. Zaman geçtikçe Moon'un müziğe olan arzusu gittikçe büyüdü. Solo şarkıcı olmayı kendinde hedef belirledi ve yeni ajansı The Grove ile tanıştığında her şey hazırdı. Solo albüm çalışmalarını yapmak nasıldı?
Gerçekten gerçek gibi hissetmedim çünkü çoğunlukla hazırlık yapıyordum, çıkış tarihi yaklaşmaya başladıkça başarı da gelmeye başladı. Dürüst olmam gerekirse, B.A.P dağıldıktan sonra ne yapılacağı ve nasıl yapılacağı hakkında bir çok düşünceye kapıldım. Solo çıkış yapmak ve ya müzik ile ilgili bir şeyler yapmak istediğime emindim, ama çok zordu. 

Yeni bir isim altında çalışmayı düşündünüz mü?
Takma ad kullanmayı düşündüm. Adımın son hecesi "Up"ı kullanmayı düşündüm. Ama sonra çok ünlü "Up" (2019) filmi ortaya çıktı (gülüşürler). Bana gerçek ismimle devam etmemi söylediler ve bende bunun en iyisi olacağını düşündüm.



Solo çıkış yapmak nasıl bir duygu?
Yalnız hissetiriyor, katlanılabilir. Ama kendimi sorumlu hissediyorum. Önceden (B.A.P ile), hepimiz birlikte eğlenirdik. Ama şimdi yükselmeliyim çünkü herkes benim hatırım için çalışıyor. Çok konuşmaya ve atmosferi dağıtmaya çalışıyorum. 
B.A.P'te benim rolüm bu değildi. Ama zamanı geldiğinde bunu yapabilirim ve daha fazla konuşabilirim. Ben bunların hepsinin kendimde parlayan enerjiyi bulma sürecimin bir parçası olduğunu düşünüyorum.

Parlak enerjiden bahsetmişken, Single ile aradığın şey bu mu?
B.A.P ile performanslar ve müzik oldukça ciddi ve güçlüydü, bedenim buna alışıktı. Daha önce yapmadığım bir şey denedim, bu yüzden biraz endişeliyim. Ama kendimin yeni bir yönünü keşfettiğimi düşünüyorum. Bence fanlar parlayan ve kabarcıklı enerjimi görmeyi canlandırıcı bulacaklar. 

Neden ilk çıkışınızı yazdığınız bir şarkı ile yapmadınız?
Bu, ajansla yaptığım ilk projeydi ve bu yüzden bir anlaşmaya vardık. Yazdığım şarkılar var ama bence çok farklı faktörler aldık. Biz birçok kişi tarafından beğenilecek ve ferah bir melodi ile yola çıktık. 

B.A.P üyelerinden solo çıkış yapan son üyelerden birisiniz. Herhangi bir şekilde geride kaldığınızı düşünüyor musunuz?
Oldukça gerçekçi düşünmeye meyilliyim. Kendimi düşünüyorum ve elimden geleni yapıyorum. Diğer üyelerin gerisinde olduğumu düşünmüyorum. Kendi hızımda gidiyorum. Etrafımdaki insanlardan ilham alabilirdim fakat çok fazla etkilenmiyorum. 

B.A.P dağıldığından bu zamana nasılsınız?
Ajans olmadan kapılarını çaldım. Geçirdiğim yıllar boyunca yapmak istediğim birçok şeyi denedim. Kendim denedim ve her şeyi kendi başıma yaptım, aslında o kadar da kötü değildi. Bunun hakkında fazla düşünmedim, herkesin böyle olduğunu düşündüm. Gösterilerde de aynıydı. Şans olan şu ki yaptım, birlikte veya ayrı. 

Şimdi en çok ne yapmak istiyorsunuz?

Bir konser vermek istiyorum. MOONW4LK adında bir fan kulübüm var ve onlarla tanıştığımdan bu yana uzun zaman geçti. Daehyun (eski B.A.P üyesi) ile müzikalini yaparken birkaç tanesiyle tanıştım. Hayranlarla tanıştığım son resmi zaman B.A.P konserleri oldu. Birçok farklı müzik türü göstereceğim ve kendi hikayemi solo bir konserle anlatacağım. Aklımda birçok hip-hop performansı var.

Hip-hop'tan bahsetmişken, MBN kanalında "Sign Here" programında hip-hop seçmelerine katıldınız. Nasıldı?

Tanıdığım bir kişi beni yönlendirdi, denemek isteyip istemediğimi sordular. Heyecanlı hissettim çünkü eğlenceli olacağını düşündüm. Bir şekilde kendime meydan okuyordum. Seçmeler devam ederken M.B.A'ya yaklaştım. İrtibatım devam ediyor ve ileride onları bir şarkıya dahil etmeyi düşünüyorum.

Yunhway ile işbirliği nasıl gerçekleşti?

Onun hayranıydım. Bu single'ın özel bir sesle güzelleşeceğini düşündüm ve onu aradım. Şarkıyı duydu ve hemen yapacağını söyledi ve böylece minnetle birlikte çalışmamıza yol açtı. 

Yeni bir hedefiniz var mı?

Çok detaylı düşünmemeye çalışıyorum. Askerlik görevime başlamadan önce yeni şeyler yapmak istiyorum. Hayranlarla daha iyi bir iletişim kurabilmek için YouTube kanalı açmak istiyorum. Ve çok fazla içmem ama içki içerken çekim yapmayı, sadece sıradan vloglar yayınlamayı ve daha fazlasını denemek istiyorum. Kendimi en doğal halimle göstermek istiyorum.

Bir sonraki şarkı için planınız nedir?

Bir albüm düşünüyorum. Bu single gelecekteki albümün bir ön sürümü olabilir, birçok farklı plana açığım. Kendi hakkımda anlatabileceğim hikayeleri gerçekten yakalayan bir arka plan hikayesi oluşturmayı planlıyorum. Ama bu sadece bir başlangıç, daha fazlasını göstermek istiyorum.

Former B.A.P member is making his solo debut with "Headache"
Nine years into his singing career, Moon Jong-up of the disbanded boy band B.A.P made his solo debut last week with his single "Headache." It might be a late start, but the singer says that it's been worth the wait.
After B.A.P disbanded in February 2019 after a rocky ride since ist debut in 2012, each member took different paths. Moon has been auditioning for plays and musicalsever since, without any support from an agency or a manager. Over time, Moon's thirst for music grew ever more. He gave himself the goal of becoming a solo singer, and everything was ready to go when he met his new agency, The Groove.
“It’s all about facing reality and paving my own path,” he told Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily. His answers were proof that the uphill battles he has had to fight over the years have made him stronger and wiser. The following are edited excerpts from the interview. 
What has it been like working toward making your solo debut?
 It didn’t really feel real because I have mostly been in preparations, but it started to hit home as the release date got closer. Honestly, I had been caught up in so many thoughts since B.A.P disbanded — about what to do and how to do it. I was sure that I wanted to make my solo debut or do something related to music, but everything else was so hard. 
Did you ever consider performing under a new name?
I did think about using nicknames. I thought about using “Up,” which is the last syllable of my name. But then it turns out that the movie “Up” [2019] is too famous (laughs). The others just told me to go with my real name, and I thought that would be the best too.



How does it feel to have debuted solo?


It feels lonely, which is bearable. But I feel more responsible. Beforehand [with B.A.P], we all had fun together. But now I have to step up because everyone’s there working for my sake. I try to talk a lot and ease the atmosphere.  
 
That wasn’t really my role with B.A.P. But when the time came, I could do it and talk more. I think this is all a part of the process of finding a bright energy for myself.
Speaking of bright energy, is that what you went for with the single?
The performances and music with B.A.P were quite strong and serious, and my body was used to that. I’ve tried something that I haven’t before, so I am worried. But I think I’ve discovered a new side of myself. I think the fans will find it refreshing to see my bright and bubbly energy.
Why didn’t you go with a song you wrote yourself as your solo debut?

This was the first project I’ve done with this agency, so we came to an agreement. There are songs that I’ve written, but I think we took in a lot of different factors. We went with a melody that was open and could be liked by many people.

You’re one of the last members of B.A.P to make a solo debut. Do you feel like you’re lagging behind in any way?

I tend to think quite realistically. I think about myself and do what I can. I don’t think I’m lagging behind the other members. I’m going at my own pace. I could be inspired by the people around me, but I don’t get affected too much.

How have you been doing since B.A.P disbanded?

I went around knocking on doors without an agency. I did try a lot of things that I wanted to do during the year that I had. I drove myself and did everything on my own — it wasn’t that bad actually. I didn’t think much about it, and I just thought that everyone was like this. It was the same with plays. The fortunate thing is that I make do — with or without. 




What do you want to do the most now?

I want to hold a concert. I have a fan club called MOONW4LK, and it’s been a long time since I’ve met them offline. I’ve met a few of them when Daehyun [former member of B.A.P] was doing his musical. The last official time I met with fans was through B.A.P concerts. I’ll get to show a lot of different musical genres and tell my own story through a solo concert. I have a lot of hip-hop performances in mind.

Speaking of hip-hop, you took part in channel MBN’s hip-hop audition program “Sign Here.” How did that go?

A person I knew connected me to them, and they asked if I’d like to try it out. I felt excited because I thought it would be fun. I was challenging myself in a way. I got close to the M.B.A Crew while I was auditioning. I keep in touch, and I’m thinking of featuring them in a song in the future.

How did the collaboration with Yunhway come about?

I’ve always been a fan of hers. I thought that this single would work nicely with a featured voice, so I called her. She heard the song and told me straight away that she’d do it, so that gratefully led to us working together. 

Do you have a new goal?

I try not to think in too much detail. I do want to do new things before I start my military duty. I’d like to open up a YouTube channel to better communicate with fans. And I don’t drink much, but I’d like to try filming while drinking, just post ordinary vlogs and so much more. I want to show myself at my most natural state.

What’s your plan for the next song?

I’m thinking of an album. This single could be a pre-release of that album — I’m open to a lot of different plans. I’m thinking of coming up with a background story that really captures the stories that I can tell about myself. But it’s just the beginning, and I want to do and show much more.
