Daesaseup, ilk defa Kral Yeongjo'nun saltanati (Joseon Hanedanligi) zamaninda Pansori müzigi kaynakli olarak ortaya çikmis ve günümüze kadar geldigi kabul edilmistir. Jeonju Daesaseup Festivali, ülke çapinda üstün performans gösteren sanatçilarin kis gündönümünün hemen öncesinde bir gece boyu devam eden sarki festivali için davet edilmesine dayanir. Bu daha sonra bir yarisma haline geldi ve bugün, ülkenin her yerinden yetenekli sarkicilar rekabet etmek için toplanirlar.

Introduction
Daesaseup originated from Pansori music that first appeared around the time of King Yeongjo’s reign (Joseon Dynasty) and has been passed down until today. The Jeonju Daesaseup Festival goes back to the time when outstanding performers from around the nation were invited for an all-night song festival on the eve of the winter solstice. This later developed into a competition, and today, gifted singers from around the nation gather to compete.
