Jeongamsa
Temiz Kaya Tapınağı. Bu tapınak Ülke Baş Keşişi Ja Jang Beopssa tarafından kuruldu.
Jeonggamsa’yı kurmadan evvel başka bir tapınak kurdu: Sudasa. Bir gün, Sudasa’nın tamamlanmasının ardından rüyasında öğretmenini gördü. Öğretmeni onunla Songjeong’ta buluşmak istedi. Songjeong’a vardığında, öğretmeni ondan kendisiyle Taebaessan’daki Galbunji’de buluşmasını istedi ve gözden kayboldu. Jajang öğretmenini kocaman ağacın altında kıvrılmakta olan bir yılan bulacağı Taebaekssan’a kadar takip etti. Orada, Seoknamsa adında bir tapınak kurdu.
Bu olay 1300 yıl önceydi. Efsanelere göre Jajang, alana pagoda dikmeye çalışmış ancak pagoda sürekli yıkılmıştır. Bunun üzerine tüm kalbiyle ararot kamışı asmalarına dua etmiş, pagodayı dikmiştir.
Jeokmyeolboung’da Kral Seondeok’un bağışladığı Keşiş Cüppesi Geumranggasa ve Hindistan’dan gelen kandil Odonghyangro bulunur. Diğer tapınakların aksine, bu tapınakta Buda yoktur. Seo Won Jangdan, Jeokmyeolbongung’un girişinde bulunur. Kurumuş bir ağacın yerindeki bir yığın taştır. İhtiyarlar, o kocamış ağacın ne yağmurda ne de rüzgârda sallandığını söyler. O ağaç, Jajangbeopssa’ya ya da Samyeongdang’a değnek olmuştur. Seoknamsa’nın tamamlanışının ardından Jajang, Munsubosal’ı bekliyordu. Yaşlı keşiş bir gün üzerinde çaput, omzunda sallanan bir sepet çıkıp geldi, hizmetçiden kendisini içeri bırakmasını istedi. Hizmetçi o güne dek kimsenin Jajang’ın adını söylediğini duymamıştı. Bu nedenle keşişe, aklını mı kaçırdın dedi. Cesareti kırılmayan keşiş, gelişinin duyurulmasını istedi.
Hizmetçi düşüncesinin tersine keşişin gelişini Jajang’a bildirdi. Jajang keşişin derhal uzaklaştırılmasını söyledi. İlim yolunda kibirlenildiğini homurdanan keşiş, sepetindeki aslana dönüşecek ölü köpek yavrusunu oraya bırakıp gözden kayboldu. JAJANG ne oldugunu duyana dek, ne kaçırdığını anlayamadı ve başarısız şekilde keşişin peşine düştü.
Geumdaebong’da açgözlülere görünmeyen altın pagoda vardır, Eundaebong’da da gümüş. Yalnızca can-ı gönülden ve merhametli olanlar onları görebilir. Uzun zaman önce Ubokdang adındaki adam, çatıda ihtiyar bir keşişle oynuyordu. Pagodaya işaret etti ve onun altın olduğunu söyledi. “Sen içinde açgözlülük barındırmayan altın bir adam olmalısın.” dedi keşiş ve turna kuşuna binip Cennet’e uçtu.

Clean Rock Temple This temple was founded by JAJANGBEOPSSA, who was in charge of all the Buddhist priests in the country.
Before founding JEONGAMSA, he founded another temple,SUDASA. One day, after SUDASA was completed, he had a dream in which his teacher appeared and asked him to meet in SONGJEONG. When he got to SONGJEONG, his teacher asked him again to meet him at GALBUNJI on TAEBAEKSSAN and disappeared. JAJANG followed him to TAEBAEKSSAN, where he found a big snake coiling itself under a big tree. He founded a temple there and named it SEOKNAMSA.
It was 1300 hundred years ago. Legends has it that while he was putting up a pagoda near the area the pagoda kept collapsing again and again, so he prayed with all his heart until arrowroot vines wound their way to three spots on which JEONGAMSA, , and the pagoda are now.
JEOKMYEOLBOGUNG houses GEUMRANGASA, which is a Monk's Robe bestowed by King SEONDEOK, and ODONGHYANGRO, which is an incense-burner from India. Unlike other temples, it doesn't have any Buddha placed in it. SEOWONJANGDAN is located at the entrance of JEOKMYEOLBOGUNG. It is a pile of rocks on which a dead tree stands. Old people say that the tree stands where it is without swaying in the wind and rain. It is said to have been the cane belonging to JAJANGBEOPSSA or SAMYEONGDANG. After SEOKNAMSA's completion, JAJANG was waiting for MUNSUBOSAL to appear until one day an old monk in rags and with a basket slung over his shoulder came and asked the attendant to let him in. The attendant had never heard any one call JAJANG's name, and so he told the monk that he must be out of his mind. Undiscouraged, he insisted that he be announced.
Against his better judgement, the attendant announced the monk's arrival to JAJANG, who told him to turn him away. Muttering to himself that conceit gets in the way of enlightenment, the monk emptied his basket containing a dead puppy, which turned into a lion and disappeared. Not until he heard about what happened did JAJANG realize what he missed and chase him without success.
There is a golden pagoda on GEUMDAEBONG, and a silver pagoda on EUNDAEBONG, which are invisible to the greedy. Only those without worldly-desires and merciful could see them. Long time ago, a man named UBOKDANG was playing with an old monk on the attic. He pointed to the pagoda and said that it was a golden pagoda. The old monk said you must be a good old man with no avarice and turned himself into a white crane and flew up to heaven.
