Hwaseong Kalesi’nin kuzey kapısı, ayni zamanda ana giriş kapısı olarak hizmet verir. Jangan’in anlamı; başkenttir ve ikinci başkent olma özelliğini de taşır. Janganmun Kapısı, Hanyang’dan başkente vardığında kral doğrudan buraya geldiği için ana kapı olarak kabul edilir. İlginç olan şeyse, bu kapının Seoul Sungryemun Kapısı’ndan daha büyük olusudur.
Jangganmun Kapısı, kalenin en büyük kapılarından biridir. Kapıya; kral, Hanyang’dan geldiğinde bu kapıdan giriş yaptığı kabul edildiği için bu üstün konum verilir.
_Kapının karşı karşıya olduğu yol nedeniyle, Jangan teriminin anlamı başkenttir ve ikinci başkent olarak başka bir anlam da taşır.
_Güney Kore, Janganmun Kapısı’nın essiz tasarımı, diğer eserler arasından kendini gösterir. Çatı tasarımındaki karmaşık ahşap çalışması ve tas oymalarıyla Seoul’deki Namdaemun’a benzer. Janganmun Kapısı, doğu ve bati kapısı sadece bir bütünken, iki katli ahşap bir köşke sahiptir.
_Tarihsel kuzey kapısı, Kore Savaşı’nın yıkımlarını atlattı ve yeni bir inşa da olmadı. Bu, hala kalenin orijinal parçasıdır.

The northern gate of Hwaseong Fortress, it also serves as the main entrance. ''Jangan'' means capital, and it carries the meaning of being a secondary capital. Janganmun Gate is considered the main gate because this is the direction that the king would come from when arriving from Hanyang, the capital city. It is interesting to note that this gate is larger that the Sungryemun Gate in Seoul.
_The Janganmun Gate is one of the largest gates of the fortress. It commands a supreme position because it was considered that the king will enter through this gate while arriving from the capital city of Hanyang. The term Jangan meant capital and so the direction in which the gate was facing, carried the connotation of being a secondary capital.
- The unique design of the Janganmun Gate in South Korea has made it stand out from all other relics. The design of the roof, intricate wood work and the stone carvings resemble the Namdaemun in Seoul.
- The Janganmun Gate enjoys the privilege of having a two story wooden pavilion while the eastern and western gate only had one.
The historical northern gate survived the ravages of Korean War and therefore is not a reconstruction. It still is the part of the original fortress.
_The Janganmun Gate is surrounded by small fortresses meant to house guards with the duty to protect the gate. The other three gates also enjoyed the same privilege.
