Nisan ayında Fantagio Ent ile Pledis Entertainment yeni grup heLOVEnus için işbirliği yaptı. Her iki kuruluştan gelen haberlere göre grup ünlü bir besteci tarafından yazılmış ilk singleları ve dansları için hazırlanıyor. Fantagio: ''Bir buçuk yıllık stajyerlerimizlerdi. Yoo Ara, YoonJo ve Rhyme After School'un ilk albümü Virgin'de Pre-School Girls olarak iki şarkıya eşlik etti. Rhyme, Hyelim adıyla Love Letter şarkısına eşlik ederken Yoo Ara hem şarkıya eşlik etti hem de klipte oynadı.
Bu üç kızın After School'a katılması bekleniyordu. Yoo Ara ve diğer stajyer Kyungmin After School'un dokuzuncu üyesi olacaktı, her nasılsa E-Young eklendi.

Grup ilk Pledisboss'un Twitter biyografisinde ''Venus'' olarak tanıtıldı. Ilk olarak After School alt grubu olacağı rivayet edildi ama sonra ismi "helLOVEnus" olarak söylendi. 17 Nisan'da grup resmen ilan edildi bir teaser görüntüsü ile resmi sitesi, Facebook sayfası, Twitter sayfası ve Cafe Daum'u açıldı. Pledis'den Yoo Ara, YoonJo ve Rhyme Fantiago 'dan Alice, Nara ve YoonYoung katıldı. 9 mayıs gibi çıkış yapmaları bekleniyor.

Pledis Entertainment, collaborating with Fantagio entertamnet, an acting agency, for Hello VeNus for a showcase in April. According to reports from both agencies, the group has already been preparing for their first single, a dance song from a famous composer. Fantagio revealed, “They’ve trained for about a year and a half. Four members are from Fantagio and three are from Pledis, and after their debut, Fantagio will be managing the acting portions of their promotion while Pledis will be taking over variety.”

Yoo Ara, Yoonjo and Rhyme were Pre-School Girls of sister group After School, with the former two featuring on their first album Virgin. Rhyme was featured as a backing vocalist on Love Letter under the name "Hyelim", while Yoo Ara also sang and appeared in the music video. All three girls were expected to join After School at some point. Yoo Ara, along with fellow ]Pledis trainee Kyungmin were the final two candidates to become After School's 9th member, however E-Young was added instead.

Rhyme was also in the pre-debut line-up of a girl group called "Viva Girls"; consisting of several members include Nine Muses member Kyungri. However, the group disbanded and each girl left the company, with Rhyme joining ]Pledis Entertainment.

Nara was a member of the disbanded mixed group B2Y.

2012-present: Debut

Hello Venus first became known under the name "Venus", after Pledisboss updated his Twitter biography with their name. It was first rumoured to be an After School sub-unit, but was later updated under the name "helLOVEnus", and confirmed to be a brand new group. On April 17, 2012, Hello Venus was officially announced with a teaser image, along with the opening of an official site, Facebook, Twitter, DAUM Café and YouTube channel. The final group had become 6 members, containing 3 members from ]Pledis: Yoo Ara, Yoonjo and Rhyme, and 3 members from Fantiago: Alice, Nara and Yooyoung. They are expected to make their official debut on May 9, 2012.
