Gyeonggi Science High School (경기과학고등학교 )

Bir bilim lisesi olarak 1983 yılında kurulan Gyeonggi Science High School şu anda Suwon da Güney Koreli Üstün Yetenekli Çocuklar için bir fen lisesi olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu okul Güney Kore'de kurulan ilk fen lisesi olup ve şu anda Suwon da, Güney Kore Üstün Yetenekleri için fen lisesi olarak kullanılmaktadır. Eğitim Tanıtım Kanununa göre üstün yetenekliler için bilim lisesinden fen lisesine dönüştürülmüştür.

19 Kasım 1981: Gyeonggi-do Eğitim Komitesi tarafından onaylandıktan sonra bir Fen Lisesi kurulması için taslakların hazırlanmaya başlanması.
15 Mayıs 1982: İnşaata başlama.
15 Temmuz 1983: Resmi olarak okulun başlangıcı.
5 Mayıs 1983: İlk giriş töreni (2 sınıf, 60 erkek öğrenci)
10 Şubat 1984: Cumhurbaşkanı Chun Doo-hwan tarafından resmi ziyaret.
1 Şubat 1986: İlk mezuniyet (mezun 54, tamamlanan 44)
3 Şubat 1987: Özel bir lise olarak belirlenmiştir.
2 Mart 1988: Kız ve erkek;her ikisi için de okul değiştirildi.
1 Eylül 1988:İkinci okul müdürü Kang Sung-gi atandı.
9 Haziran 1993: Devlet Başkanı Kim Young-sam tarafından resmi ziyaret.
2 Mart 1994: Üçüncü okul müdürü, Lee Seok-geun atandı.
1 Mart 1999: İleri müdür, Kim Jong-oh tayin.
1 Eylül 2007: Altıncı müdür, Seong-chan atandı.
19 Aralık 2008: Resmi Eğitim, Bilim ve Teknoloji Bakanlığı tarafından "Bilim Akademisi" olarak belirlenmiştir.
1 Mart 2010: Resmi olarak "Üstün Yetenekliler için Bilim Akademisi" adını aldı.
2 Mart 2010: Yedinci ve geçerli müdür, Cheon Yeong-ho atandı.
2 Temmuz 2010: "Üstün Yetenekliler için Bilim Akademisi" resmi olarak ilan edildi.
22 Ocak 2011: Fen ve Matematik için Güney Carolina Valisi okul için MOU sonucuna vardı.
3 Ağustos 2011: Akira Suzuki (kimyager), Nobel Ödülü sahibi (2010), okulu ziyaret etti.
12 Kasım 2011: GIST ile MOU sonuçlandı.
21 Şubat 2012: UNIST ile MOU sonuçlandı.
1 Şubat 2013: "Üstün Yetenekli için Bilim Akademisi" için motive amaçlı ilk mezuniyet.

Kabul Politikası

Kabul işlemi 4 aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk aşamada, öğrenciler giriş belgelerini ve öğrencinin potansiyelini kanıtlayacak bir belge ile değerlendirilecektir. Herkes bu aşamada kabul edilir. İkinci aşamada, onların gerçekten yetenekli olup olmadıklarını kanıtlayacak testlerden geçerler. 2000 öğrenci burada kabul edilir. Üçüncü aşamada, onlarla görüşme yapılır ve 300 kişi kabul edilir. Son aşamada onlar da tercihen kabul edilir ve kamp için hazır bulundurulur. Yaklaşık 120 öğrenci son olarak kabul edilir.

3 ) Grup ve gönüllü etkinlik her biri en az 120 saat katılmak.
4 ) İngilizce bir tez göndermek.

Established in 1983 originally as a Science High school, is currently a Science High school for the Gifted in Suwon, South Korea. It was the first science high school established in South Korea, and was transformed into a science high school for the Gifted, being one of the four in South Korea. It is the third been transformed from Science high school to science high school for the gifted according to Gifted Education Promotion Law.

November 19, 1981: Draft for establishment of a Science High School confirmed by Gyeonggi-do Education Committee.
May 15, 1982: Start of construction.
July 15, 1983: Official School Inception.
May 5, 1983: The first entrance ceremony. (2 class, 60 boy students)
February 10, 1984: Official visit by President Chun Doo-hwan.
February 1, 1986: The first graduation (graduation 54, completed 44)
February 3, 1987: Designated as a Specialty High School.
March 2, 1988: Changed to school for both boys and girls.
September 1, 1988: The second principal, Kang Sung-gi appointe.
June 9, 1993: Official visit by President Kim Young-sam.
March 2, 1994: The third principal, Lee Seok-geun appointed.
March 1, 1999: The forth principal, Kim Jong-oh appointed.
December 19, 2008: Officially designated as "Science Academy" by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.[4]

February 21, 2012: Concluded MOU with UNIST.
February 1, 2013: The first Graduation after modified to “Science Academy for the Gifted”.

Admission policy

Admission procedure is consist of 4 steps. At the first step, students will be evaluated with their documents include introduction, recommendation, and a document that will prove the student's potential. Every one is accepted in this stage. At the second step, they will get through tests that will judge if he or she really are gifted. 2000 students are accepted here. At the third step, they will have interview, and less than 300 students are accepted. At the fourth, the last step, they are either preferentially accepted or attend to camp. About 120 students are finally accepted.

Curriculum

It is consist of 139 credits of academic courses and 33 credits of research activities.

Graduation policy

To graduate from this school successfully, you have to fill in 4 criteria.

1 )Complete at least 172 credits.

4 )Submit an own thesis in English.
