Daejeongsanbang yolu üstünde Gwangjeongdang adında bir tapınak vardır.

Tapınakta, yoldan geçenlerin kendisine saygıyla eğilmesini ve atlarından inmelerini aksi takdirde atların toynaklarının yere saplanacağını ve atların kımıldayamayacağını söyleyen bir iblis yaşardı. Kral Sukjong’un hükümranlığında, JejuMoksa görevine yeni atanan Lee Hyeong Sang tapınağı geçmek üzereydi. Sekreteri:

“Burada bir tapınak var. Eğer atınızdan inmezseniz atın toynakları zemine saplanacak” dedi.

Bunu diyerek söylediklerini dikkate almayan, birkaç adım gittikten sonra atı durup kımıldamayan Lee Hyeong Sang’a atından inmesini tavsiye ediyordu.

Lee, en sonunda atından indi, tapınağa saygıyla eğildi ve birkaç şaman çağırdı. Atının başını kesti, masaya koydu, iblisin çıkmasını bekledi. İblis ortaya çıkıp Lee’nin taşıdığı bayrağı ısırmayı denediğinde Lee, kılıcıyla iblisinin boynunu kesti ve bedenini yaktı. Buna rağmen köylüler hâlâ tapınağa saygılarını sunarlar.

There is a shrine named GWANGJEONGDANG on the road side of DAEJEONGSANBANG.

In the shrine lived a serpent, which asked people to bow and get off their horses when passing in front of it, otherwise, the hoofs of the horses got stuck on the ground and didn't move. During King SUKJONG's reign, LEEHYEONGSANG, who was newly appointed as the JEJUMOKSA, came to pass the shrine. His secretary said,

"There is a shrine here, and if you don't get off your horse, the hoofs of the horse will get stuck on the ground."

Saying this, he advised LEEHYEONGSANG to get off his horse, who did not pay heed to him and took a couple of steps when his horse suddenly stopped and didn't move.

At last, he got off his horse, bowed at the shrine, and called in several shamans. He cut the head off the horse, put it on the table, and waited for the serpent to come out. When the serpent at last came out and tried to bite the flag he was carrying, he cut the serpent with his sword and burnt its dead body. The villagers, however, still pay their respect to the shrine.
