Bu kale, Chungwonkun / Pukilmyun / Chojeongri’de bulunur.
Şilla’da, her biri aslan gibi, bir oğlu ve dokuz kızı olan bir aile vardı. Birgün hayatları üstüne bahse girdiler. Oğlan, “Ben tahta ayakkabılar giyip Seoul’e giderken, siz de bir kale inşa etmelisiniz.” dedi. “Ben oraya varmadan kale bitmiş olmalı. O zaman ben kaybederim ve siz beni öldürebilirsiniz. Eğer kale bitmez ve siz kaybederseniz, hepiniz öleceksiniz.” Anneleri bahisten haberdar olunca endişelendi. Kızlar, eteklerine aldıkları kayaları öyle hızlı taşıyorlardı ki, oğlu için endişelenmeye başladı. Erkek kardeşleri dönmeden kızlar kaleyi bitirince, tek oğlunu kaybedecekti. Oğulsuz bir aile ne olacaktı? Oğlunun hayatını nasıl kurtaracağını düşünmeye başladı ve aklına bir fikir geldi. Biraz kırmızı fasulye lapası hazırladı. Lapayı kızlarına götürdü ve yemelerini istedi. Kızlar kaybetme korkusuyla geri çevirince dedi ki:
“Çocuklar, erkek kardeşiniz tahta ayakkabılarla Seoul’e gitti. Gelmesi zaman alacak. Şimdi acıkmış olmalısınız. Biraz lapa yiyin.”
Kızlar lapayı daha fazla reddetmediler. Kaselerce lapa alıp yemeye çalıştılar. Lapa öyle sıcaktı ki, üflemek zorunda kaldılar. Erkek kardeşleri geri döndüğünde inşaat neredeyse bitmişti. Kızlar bahsi kaybetti. Eteklerinde taşıdıkları kayaları döktüler. Erkek kardeş hepsini de öldürdü. Ardından da “Kardeşlerimi öldürdükten sonra nasıl yaşarım?” deyip kendini öldürdü.
Bugün bile, dokuz kız kardeşin geride bıraktığı kayaları görebiliriz.

This castle is located in Chojeongri, Pukilmyun, Chungwonkun.
In Shilla, there was a family with one son and nine daughters, who were all as strong as can be. One day, they made a bet upon their lives. The eldest son said,
"While I am gone to Seoul in wooden shoes with a tethered calf, you should build a castle. You complete the castle before I get here, then I lose, and you may kill me. If not, you lose, and you all die. When their mother heard about the bet, she was worried. Her daughters were carrying rocks on their skirts with such speed that she was concerned about her son's life. When the daughters complete the castle before he comes back, she will lose her only son, and what will become of the family with no son. She tried to figure out how to save his son's life, and hit upon an idea. She prepared some hot red-bean gruel, took it to her daughters, and offered them, who refused because of the fear that their brother might beat them on the race. Mother insisted that they eat the gruel, saying,
"Children, your brother went to Seoul in wooden shoes with a tethered calf, and it will take a while before he comes back. You should be hungry now, and have some gruel."
The daughters could not resist the gruel any longer, and took the gruel bowls which were so hot that they had to keep puffing the gruel to cool it. They were almost done with the construction when their brother returned. They lost the bet, so they let drop the rocks that they were carrrying on their skirts, and got killed by their brother, who killed himself afterward thinking 'How could I live after I killed my sisters?'
Even today, we can find the rocks where they were left by the nine sisters.
