Golgul Temple (골굴사 / Golgul-sa)

Golgul-sa Temple(Kaya Ini Tapınağı), Golgul-am Maae Yeorae Chwasang çevresinde bulunan bir Budist tapınağıdır. 6. yüzyılda Silla hanedanlığının sonlarına doğru Saint Kwang Yoo ve onun Hindistan'dan gelen arkadaşları tarafından yapılmıştır.

Alanda toplam 12 mağara bulunmaktadır. Dar geçit ve patikalardan geçilerek dağın içerisindeki bu mağaralara ulasılabilir. Patikalarda koruma demirleri olmasına rağmen, insanlar yükseklikten ve darlıktan şikayet edebilirler. Tapınak ayrıca bir Zen savaş sanatı olan Sonmudo ile de ünlüdür.

Golgulsa is the only cave temple in Korea, and was founded about 1,500 years ago by the Venerable Gwang-yu and his party from India, who settled down in the Hamwolsan Mountain area. It is said that this temple was founded about 200 years earlier than Bulguksa Temple. Golgulsa is located on Hamwolsan which lies about 20 km away from Gyeongju toward the East Sea (in the direction of Gampo), and has the oldest history of all Buddhist remains on this mountain. The Venerable Gwang-yu and his party came to Korea around the 6th century when Buddhism was flourishing in the Silla Dynasty, and founded the temple by creating a relief carving of the Buddha on the rock (Ma-aebul) and building stone Buddha caves in 12 locations.
