Küreselleşme çağında Seoul, çok hızlı değişen bir yer haline geldi.
Global Village Folk Museum, Seoul'ün simgesi olan Seoul Kulesinde, turizmi geliştirmek ve öğrencileri küreselleşme hakkında bilgilendirmek amacıyla kurulmuştur.
Müzede Kore kültürüne ait eserlerin yanı sıra 150 değişik ülkeden getirilmiş, yaklaşık 50.000 temsili eser bulunmaktadır. Bu eserler geldikleri kıtalara göre düzenlenerek ziyarete açılmıştır.
Ayrıca her 3 ayda bir, Nelson Mandela'nın hayatı veya Dünya Maskeleri gibi değişik temalardan oluşan sergiler de sunulmaktadır.

In the era of globalization, Seoul has become a place of frequent international exchange. The Global Village Folk Museum was established in the Seoul Tower, a symbol of Seoul, to promote tourism and the different cultures around the world, and to educate students on globalization.
The museum exhibits folklore artifacts of Korea as well as artifacts representing 150 countries classified into the continents and provides special exhibition of some 50 thousand artifacts, such as Exhibition of Life of President Nelson Mandela and the World Masks Exhibition, every three months. The museum is a space for international cultural experience and education as well as a facility for tourism, and promotion of cultures and educationFirst, the museum allows correct understanding of the Korean culture through comparison of cultures between different countries and exhibition of the artifacts from around the world.

Kral Giysisi
Ülke ve Çağ: Çin( Qing Hanedanlığı)
Boyutlar: 136cm
Gobok veya Yongpo olarak da adlandırılan resmi kral giysisi. Bu kıyafet, Kore'de giyilen üst giysilerine çok benzer.
Göğüs, omuzlar ve sırta, 5 adet kutsal ejderha işlemesi yapılmıştır. Giysinin tümündeki işlemeler dikkat çekici güzelliktedir.

King's Garment
Country and Era: China (Qing Dynasty)
Size: 136cm
An official garment of a king, also called Gobok or Yongpo. The garment is a coat similar to a Korean topcoat. The garment is made of yellow or red silk, and embroidered with red inserts in the yellow silk fabric or silk gauze. The five-holy dragon patterns containing gold embroidered bo (補) letter are on the chest, the shoulders and the back. The entire garment is decorated with beautiful patterns. About 30 cm of the sleeve ends are embroidered with waves in oblique lines, and blue and red clouds. The front and the back of the garment are embroidered with six dragons with vivid expression, and cloud patterns are arranged between the dragons.

Boyutlar: 81X41X108cm
Renkli ahşaptan yapılmıştır. Ön kısmı 4 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Her bölüme ayrı bir resim çizilmistir.
Hatlari çiçekli desenlerle bezenmiştir. Resimlerdeki temalar, okçuluk, dans, avcılık ve hayvanlardan oluşmaktadır.

Vine pattern wooden case
Country and Era: Tibet (16th century)
Size: 81X41X108cm
A piece of furniture with two sections made of colored wood. The front is divided in four sections, each of which is painted with different pictures. The boundary is decorated with a floral design. The pictures are of archery, dancing, hunting, and animals in free motion.




Ganesha Mask
Ülke ve Çağ: Hindistan - 11. YY
Ganesha, Hint mitolojisinde insanların koruyucusu, bilgelik ve talih tanrısıdır.
Hintlilerin, bu tanrıya 6 veya 7. YY asıralarından itibaren tapındıkları tahmin ediliyor.
Maskenin yapıldığı metal, Hindistanin fil şeklindeki tanrısının sembolüdür.
Yüzeyi mavi mücevherlerle kaplanmiştir. Burunda 6 adet işlenmis midye, ve baş kısmında işlenmiş mavi ve kırmızı mücevherler bulunur.

Ganesha mask
Country and Era: India (11th century)
Size: 42cm
Ganesha is the Governor of People, a god of wisdom and fortune in the myths of India. The god is a son of Siva and Parvati, and worshipped as a god who helps the people gain wisdom. The god has face of an elephant with long nose, one tooth, four arms and potbelly banded with a snake, and rides on a mouse. It is estimated the religion that worshipped this god appeared in India around sixth or seventh century. The mask is made of metal and symbolizes the elephant like god of India. The surface is embossed, and the dotted protruded section of the face was affixed with blue jewelry. The nose is decorated with six processed shells, and the embossed section of the head is affixed with alternating blue and red jewels.


Bronz Kap
Ülke ve Çağ: Liberya - 14. YY
Boyutları: 28X28X29cm
Bronzdan yapılmış, kapaklı, üçgen bir kaptır.
Tüm yüzeyine işlemeler yapılmıstır. Kapaktaki sap bir aslan şeklindedir. Bu aslan ağzında avını tutmaktadır.
Kabın her iki yüzünde, çevresinde geometrik şekiller olan yılan işlemeleri vardır.

Bronze case
Country and Era: Liberia (14th century)
Size: 28X28X29cm
A triangular case made of bronze. The case consists of a body and a lid. The entire surface is embossed with pictures. The handle on the lid is in the shape of a tiger holding a goat in its mouth. A snake in oblique lines decorate the center of each side of the case, and the surrounding is decorated with geometrical patterns.



Gang Gang Sul Rae

Boyutlar: 35X 98X 90cm
Man Suk Choi'nin eseri.
Güzel elbiseler içinde bir grup köylü kızının Ağustos ayında, dolunay zamanı Gang Gang Sul Rae sarkısı eşliğinde dans etmesini konu alır.
Heykelcikte, bu kızlara bakmak için ağaçlara tırmanmış olan genç adamları da görebilirsiniz.

Gang Gang Sul Rae
Country and Era: Korea (20th century)
Size: 35X 98X 90cm
A work of Man-Suk Choi. A sculpture illustrating a group of village girls dressed in pretty dresses, dancing and singing a song called Gang Gang Sul Rae, while holding hands in a circle, under the bright moon or the Full-Moon's Day in lunar August. The sculpture also shows village lads who have climbed on the tree to look at the girls.
