Geobukpanggu
Kaplumbağa şeklinde kaya anlamına gelen Geubukpanggu adında bir kaya vardır. Şeklinden dolayı bu adı almıştır. Kayanın köyümüze geliş hikâyesi ilginçtir.
Guryonggang akarsuyu altında, Yaksan’a çıkıp dünyaya kuş bakışı bakan prensesin babası olan Deniz Kralı’nın sarayı vardı. Kız, bir oğlanla karşılaştı ve ikisi de birbirinden hoşlandı. Her gün buluştular. Kızından şüphelenen Kral, kızını ikisinin buluştuğu yere kadar takip etti. İkisi arasındaki ilişkiyi öğrendi. Öyle öfkelendi ki kızını kovdu ve saraya girmesine izin vermedi. Kız, bu gençle evlendi, oğlan çocuğu oldu. Kocasının evden uzak olduğu gün Guryonggang’a gelip babasını düşününceye dek hayatları güzeldi. Kızını kovduğu için üzgün olan baba, kızını görmeye geldi. Kızından kendisiyle gelmesini istedi ancak kız, kocası ve oğlundan dolayı bunu reddetti. Gerçi Kral, kızını zorla da olsa yanında götürdü. Nehre kadar Kral’a eşlik eden kaplumbağa, prensesin çocuğuna bakmak için geride kaldı. Kral, kaplumbağanın yaptığını öğrenince öfkelendi ve onu taşa çevirdi. Oğlan büyüdü, çoğu kişinin ilgisini çeken büyük şehir Yeonbyeon’u medenileştirdi. Kayanın başı Guryonggang’a, kuyruğu Yeonbyeon’a doğrudur. Japon İşgali’nde, Japon’un biri kayanın başını kesti böylece şehirde su sıkıntısı baş gösterdi. Zenginlerin sayısı azaldı ve diğer başka şeyler... Aksilikler yüzünden Yeonbyeonlu bir adam kaplumbağa başı yaptı, kesik baş yerine taktı ve her şey normale döndü.

There is rock named GEUBUKPANGGU, which means the rock in the shape of a turtle. It was named after its shape. How the rock came to be in our village is an interesting story.
Under the water of GURYONGGANG was a Palace of the Sea King, whose daughter came up to YAKSAN where she looked down the world. She ran into a young man, and they took a fancy for each other. They met everyday. The King, who was suspicious of her, followed her to their meeting place one day. He found out about their affair. He was so furious that he drove his daughter away and would not let her in. She got married to the young man, had a son, and had a happy life until one day while her husband was away she came to GURYONGGANG thinking of her father. The King, who was miserable after he drove her away, came up to see her. He asked her to come with him, but she refused on account of her husband and son. Notwithstanding, the King took her with him by force. A turtle, which accompanied the King to the river, stayed behind to look after her son. When the King found out about the turtle, he got enraged and turned the turtle into a rock. Her son grew up to reclaim YEONBYEON, which attracted many people to become a big city. The head of the rock is toward GURYONGGANG, and the tail toward YEONBYEON, which explains the fact that there is always plenty of water and lots of rich people in YEONBYEON. People say that the turtle drains all the water in GURYONGGANG and sends it to YEONBYEON. During the Japanese Occupation of Korea, a Japanese cut the head off the rock, after which YEONBYEON got to experience water scarcity, decrease in the number of rich people, and other mishaps. So a man from YEONBYEON carved a head of a turtle and replaced its broken head, which brought everything back the way things were before the head of the rock was cut off.
