Gal isminde, bir kral buraya sigindan beri adi Galwangsan olarak biliniyordu. Sonra ismi Gariwangsan olarak degismistir. Deniz seviyesinden, 1.561 metre yukarida bulunmaktadir. Ormanda ve Ash dagi'nin her yerinde Japon Porsukagaci gibi (bu agaç çok nadir bir türdür.) ülkenin en dogal genis yaprakli ormanlari uzanmaktadir. Burada, yerel halk eskiden kral'a vergi olarak bölgenden bulduklari vahsi ginseng'leri verirdi. Burasi, komsu ormanlarla birlikte resmedilmeye deger mükemmel bir uyum içindedir. Ayrica, Orman deneyimi ve egitimi sadece ailelerler için degil gençler içinde tavsiye edilmektedir.

Since a king named Gal took refuge there, it was named Galwangsan (Mt.), and later has been called Gariwangsan (Mt.). It is 1,561 meters above the sea level. There lie the nation's top natural broad leaved forests, as well as rare species, such as Japanese Yew and Mountain Ash all over the mountain. That is where local residents extracted wild ginseng to present to the king as tribute from the region. It creates a picturesque scenery in great harmony with neighboring forests.In addition, It is recommended for forest experience and training not only for families but also for youths.
