Eskiden bol fıstık yetiştiği için Jatdun-ri diye adlandırılan köy şimdi Çin kayıtlarında kaldı.
Yeoninsan Dağı efsanevi Gilsu ve Sojeong çiftinin aşk hikayesinin hatıralarının dikenleri, ve kesip biçen çiftçilerin nese ve üzüntüleri ile çevrili adı bilinmeyen bir dağdı. Fakat; 1999, Mart 15'te, Gapyeong-gun Yer İsim Komitesi, dağa ziyarete giden insanların efsanedeki aşkı ve arkadaşlığı paylaşımları için ona isim verdi. Köy, Yeoninsan Köyü, onu çevreleyen bu dağdan adını alır.

Yeoninsan Mountain was an anonymous mountain covered by brambles in memory of a legendary love story of the couple Gilsu and Sojeong, and of the joys and sorrows of slash-and-burn farmers; however, on March 15, 1999, the Place Name Committee of Gapyeong-gun named it wishing for people who visit this mountain to share in the love and friendship of the couple in the legend. And the village, Yeoninsan Village, was named after the mountain that surrounds it.
