Korea's Won 4th-best Performer Among Major 20 Currencies

Güney Kore çarşamba günü açıklanan verilere göre, geçen yıl 20 büyük ülke arasında yüzde 1.4 ABD doları kazanarak en iyi performansı sergileyen 4. ülke oldu.

Yerel döviz salı günü 2012'nin sonundan itibaren 15.2 won artışla, dolar birimiyle 1,055.4 won olarak kapandı.

Kore Bankası'nın derlediği verilere göre, euro geçen yıl ABD dolarına göre yüzde 4.6'dan fazla artarken, Çin Yuanı yüzde 2.8 ve İngiliz Sterliniyüzde 1.6 civarında artış yaşadı.

Japon Yeni gibi diğer dövizler ise düşüş yaşadı.

İki ülkenin yurtdışı pazarındaki önemli ihracat ürünleri, yenin düşmesi nedeniyle Güney Kore firmalarının kazancını zedeleyebilir.

The South Korean won gained 1.4 percent last year to the U.S. dollar, becoming the fourth-best performer among major 20 currencies, data
showed on Wednesday.

The local currency closed at 1,055.4 won to the greenback on Tuesday, up 15.2 won from the quotation posted at the end of 2012.

According to the data compiled by the Bank of Korea, the euro advanced by the most of 4.6 percent to the U.S. dollar last year, followed by the Chinese yuan which gained 2.8 percent, and the British pound with a 1.6 percent rise.

Other currencies such as the Japanese yen declined.

Key export items of the two countries overlap in overseas markets, which means that a weaker yen could hurt profitability of South Korean firms.

Samsung Electronic Registers Design Patent on Tablet in US

Samsung Electronics ABD'de de Tablet için Tasarım Patentini Tescilledi

Samsung Electronics'e katlanabilir tablet PC için bir tasarım patenti verildi.

ABD Patenti ve Marka Ofisi, "tablet bilgisayar için dekoratif tasarım" adıyla salı günü kendi web sitelerinde patent tescili talep listesi yayınladı. Aslında Samsung 2012 yılının Eylül ayında patent başvurusunda bulunmuştu.

Patent, gelecekteki tabletlerin katlanabilir ekran özelliği ile ilgilidir.

Samsung Electronics has been awarded a design patent for a foldable tablet PC.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registered the patent on Tuesday, listing the claim on its Web site as the "ornamental design for a tablet computer." Samsung originally filed for the patent in September 2012.

The patent concerns the folding display feature of future tablets

S. Korea-China Trade Volume Closing in on China-Japan Trade Volume

G. Kore-Çin Ticaret Hacmi, Dönem Sonunda Çin-Japonya Ticaret Hacminin Üzerinde Gerçekleşti

Güney Kore ve Çin arasındaki ticaret hacmi, Çin ve Japonya'nın ticaret hacmine yaklaşıyor.

Japonya'nın Nihon Keizai Shimbun gazetesine göre, geçen yılın Kasım ayına kadar, Güney Kore-Çin ticaret hacmi 250 milyar dolar civarında, yıllık bazda ise 7,4 oranında büyüdü. Çin Gümrük Genel İdaresi'nden alınan bilgiye göre aynı dönemde, Çin-Japonya ticaret hacmi 284 milyar dolar ile 6,2 oranında düştü.

Çinli gözlemciler, yaklaşık 30 milyar dolarlık bir boşluk olsa da, Güney Kore-Çin ticaret hacminin üç yıl içinde Çin-Japonya ticaret hacminden daha iyi bir performans beklendiğini söyledi.

The trade volume between South Korea and China is closing in on that of China and Japan.

Japan’s Nihon Keizai Shimbun quoted China’s General Administration of Customs as saying that until November of last year, the South Korea-China trade volume grew seven-point-four percent year-on-year to stand at 250 billion dollars. During that same period, the China-Japan trade volume fell six-point-two percent to 284 billion dollars.

The daily said that some Chinese observers believe that though there is currently a gap of some 30 billion dollars, the South Korea-China trade volume is expected to outperform the China-Japan trade volume within three years.
