Deokju Temple (덕주사 / Deokju-sa)

Deokjusa Tapınağı, Kore Budizminin Jogye Tarikatı’nın 5. bölgesinin baş tapınağı olan Beopjusa’nın bir şubesidir. Tapınağın M.S. 586’da Silla Krallığı’nın son prensesi Deokju tarafından kurulduğu söylenmektedir(Silla’nın Kralı Jinpyeong egemenliği altında 9. yıl), ama kesin kurucusu ve kuruluş tarihi doğrulanmamıştır.

Efsanelere göre, Prenses Deokju burada Prens Maui ile birlikte kaldı, tapınak inşa edildi ve Deokju olarak adlandırıldı. Tapınak, Buda’nın Deokjusa Maaebul Taş Oyması(Hazine No 406)’nın önünde yer almaktadır, ancak Kore Savaşı sırasında yanmıştır. Orijinal tapınak bölgesinden 1.7 kilometre uzaklıkta yer alan mevcut tapınak binası, 1970’lerde yürütülen yeniden yapılanma çabalarının bir sonucudur.

Introduction

Deokjusa Temple is a branch temple of Beopjusa, the head temple of the 5th district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It is said that the temple was established by Princess Deokju, the last princess of the Silla Kingdom, in 586 AD (9th year under the reign of King Jinpyeong of Silla), but the exact founder and founding date have not been verified.

According to the legends, Princess Deokju stayed here together with Prince Maui, built the temple and named it Deokjusa. The temple used to be situated in front of Deokjusa Maaebul Rock-carved Buddha (Treasure No. 406), but was burned down during the Korean War. The present temple building is the result of reconstruction efforts conducted in 1970s about 1.7 kilometers away from the original temple site.
