Chin Dae-je, Güney Korelı bir iş adamı ve eski bir politikacıdır. 20 Ocak 1952'de Gyeongsang vilayeti'nde doğmuştur. Gyeonggi Lisesi'nde okudu. Daha sonra Seoul'da Massachusetts Üniversitesi'nde elektronik mühendisliği okudu. 1985'te Samsung için çalışmaya başladı. 2000-2003 yıllarında Samsung'un dijital medya işleri başkanlığına getirildi.

Şubat 2003'te İletişim ve Bilgi bakanı oldu. 2006 yılında bu koltuğu bıraktı ve Gyeonggi Eyaleti'ne hakim olan Uri Partisi'nden yönetici olmak için çalıştı. O yıl yöneticiliği Ulusal Yariş Partisi'nin adayı Moon-Soo Kim'e kaptırdı. Hakim olan parti Uri olmasına rağmen, o yıl oyların %30'undan fazlasını topladı.

Chin Dae-je is a South-Korean businessman and an ex-politician. He was born on January 20, 1952 in Uiryeong, South Gyeongsang Province.

He attended Gyeonggi High School and then studied Electronic Engineering at Seoul National University (B.S. and M.S.), the University of Massachusetts (M.S.) and Stanford (Ph.D). From 1985 he worked for Samsung, and served as president of their Digital Media Business from 2000-2003.

He became Minister of Information and Communication in February, 2003. He resigned from the government in early 2006, and ran for the governorship of Gyeonggi Province on the ruling Uri Party ticket. However he lost to Moon-Soo Kim, the candidate of Grand National Party, as part of the wide-spread electroal revolt against the incumbent ruling party. He was however the only candidate to collect more than 30% of the votes by a ruling Uri-party candidate in all of the contests in the whole nation, except Governor Kim Wan-ju of Jeollabukdo.
