Cheolmasan and Geumma Tomb
General Choi Young in the late Koryo period was born in NOONRI, HONGBUKMYEON, HONGSEONGKUN, which is about 8 miles South of Chulma mountain. When he was young, he used to practice martial arts here on Chulma mountain, riding horses and shooting arrows. One day, he said to his beloved horse 'Keumma-Golden horse',
"Now, I am going to shoot an arrow. If you outrun the arrow, I will give you a big prize. If the arrow outruns you, I will have to behead you."
He shot an arrow on his horse toward Pailwol mountain, and ran his horse with all his might. When he got to this ginko tree, he looked about him to find the arrow, which was nowhere in sight. He thought that the arrow must have outrun his horse, and beheaded his horse, keeping back his tears. The moment the head of the horse dropped on the ground, he heard the arrow flying through the air toward him. Then he realized his mistake and grieved the death of his horse. He buried the horse with all due respect and built a tomb for him, which is located 1/2 mile away from the ginko tree. People named it 'Keumma Tomb(Golden-Horse Tomb)' after the horse, and the mountain where young Choi shot his arrow 'Chulma Mountain'.
