Busan Ulusal Gugak Merkezi, Güneybatı Bölgesinin hatırlatıcısı olan ülkenin en büyük 2. şehrinde geleneksel Kore sahne sanatlarını tanıtmak ve popüler hale getirmek amacıyla 2008 yılında açılmıştır.
Busan Ulusal Gugak Merkezi halk için yalnızca konserler düzenlemekle kalmaz aynı zamanda eğitim programları ve akademik araştırmalar da sunar ve Asya-Pasifik Bölgesinde Etnomüzikoloji alanında öncü rol oynar. Uluslararası bir şehir olan Busan'ın bu merkez ve benzer girişimlerle tarihi İpek Yolu sanatlarının diriltileceği Pasifik Okyanusu ve Asya'ya geçit görevi görmesi bekleniyor.

Busan National Gugak Center was opened in 2008 in order to successfully promote and popularize Korean traditional performing arts in the nation's second largest city and the remainder of the South Western area.
Busan National Gugak Center is dedicated to provide people not only with concerts, but also with educational programs and academic research, and to play a leading role in the field of Ethnomusicology in the Asian-Pacific region. Through this center and similar initiatives, the international city Busan is expected to become a gateway to Asia and the Pacific Ocean, where the arts of the ancient Silk Road will be revived.
