İngiliz Piyesleri Seoul’de Sergilenecek

Kraliyet Ulusal Tiyatrosu’nda sergilenen iki piyes, şimdi Seoul’de gösterime hazırlanıyor.

Bunlar, İngiliz tiyatrosunun ev sahipliği yaptığı, en çok beğeni toplayan “Jane Eyre” ve “Frankenstein” piyesleri.

Bu gösterimler, Kraliyet Ulusal Tiyatrosu’nun, oyun kayıtlarının tüm dünyadaki geniş bir kitleye yönelik sergilenmesini amaçlayan “NT Live” (Canlı Ulusal Tiyatro) projesinin bir parçası.

Oyunların kayıt sürümü, tavandan çekilen görüntülerin yanı sıra oyuncu kadrosunun da yakın çekimleriyle sahnenin daha geniş bir görünümü verdiğinden, izleyicilere sahnedekinden daha canlı bir deneyim kazandıracak.




Britanya Kraliyet Ulusal Tiyatrosu’nda sahnelenen “Jane Eyre” oyunundan sahneler. Oyunun canlı çekimleri, 19 Şubat’tan itibaren Kore Ulusal Tiyatrosu’nda gösterime girecek.

“Jane Eyre” oyunu 2014 yılından beri, Bristol Old Vic ve Kraliyet Ulusal Tiyatrosu’nun ortak bir yapımı. Oyun, Aralık 2015’te canlı olarak kaydedildi.

Oyun, Charlotte Bronte’nin aynı adı taşıyan romanına dayanıyor ve 19. yüzyılın oldukça muhafazakâr İngiliz toplumunda, bağımsız yaşamaya çalışan Jane Eyre’in hikâyesini anlatıyor.

Ünlü İngiliz bir aktris olan Madeleine Worrall, Jane Eyre’ı canlandırırken; basitçe merdiven ve çelik yapılardan tasarlanan sahne boyunca bas, davul ve piyanonun, orkestral sesleri yankılanıyor.


Britanya Kraliyet Ulusal Tiyatrosu’ndaki “Frankenstein” oyununun sahne versiyonundan bir kesit. Kore Ulusal Tiyatrosu oyunların canlı kayıtlarını sahnelemeye 21 Şubat’ta başlayacak.

Mary Shelley’in 1818’deki aynı isimli romanında dayanan “Frankenstein” oyunu, deneyleriyle akıllı fakat garip bir yaratık yaratan, hırslı genç bir bilim adamı Victor Frankenstein’ın hayatı etrafında dönüyor. Oyun, ilk çıkışını Şubat 2011’de gerçekleştirdi ve hakkında, kısa zamanda çok sayıda iyi eleştiri topladı.

“Jane Eyre” 19, 24 ve 25 Şubat’ta sergilenirken; “Frankenstein” 21, 22, 23 ve son olarak 26 Şubat’ta gösterilecek ve her ikisi de hafta içi akşam 8 ve hafta sonu öğleden sonra 3’e kadar gösterimde olacak. Biletlerin fiyatları ise 15,000 Kore Wonu.

British Plays Screened in Seoul

Two plays that had been staged at the Royal National Theatre are now set to be screened in Seoul.

The two are “Jane Eyre” and “Frankenstein,” two of the most acclaimed plays that the British theater has ever hosted. The National Theater of Korea will project live recordings of the two plays onto a movie screen from Feb. 19 to 26.

The screenings are part of the Royal National Theatre’s “NT Live" (National Theatre Live) project, which aims to have recordings of its plays screened for a wider audience all around the world.

The screen versions of the plays will bring to audiences a more lively experience than on the stage, as it gives a wider view of the stage, with images captured from the ceiling, as well as closeups of the cast.

The play “Jane Eyre” is a co-production between the Royal National Theatre and the Bristol Old Vic theatre from 2014. The play was recorded live in December 2015.

It's based on its namesake novel by Charlotte Bronte (1816-1855), and tells the story of the heroine, Jane Eyre, who strives to live independently in a very conservative British society of the 19th century. The female lead stays strong and straightforward as she goes through days of loneliness and hardship.

A popular British actress, Madeleine Worrall, plays Jane Eyre, as orchestral sounds of piano, drums and bass resonate across the stage, simply designed with ladders and steel structures.

The production of “Frankenstein,” based on its 1818 namesake novel by Mary Shelley, revolves around Victor Frankenstein, a young ambitious scientist who creates a grotesque but sapient creature through his experiments. The play made its debut in February 2011, and soon gained a good amount of rave reviews.

What shot the play to instant fame, of course, was because it was produced by Danny Boyle, one of the most lauded directors and screenwriters in Britain, and, also, because Benedict Cumberbatch, who shot to stardom since his starring in the TV show “Sherlock,” took the lead role.

Screenings of “Jane Eyre” will be on Feb. 19, 24 and 25, while “Frankenstein” will be shown on Feb. 21, 22, 23 and, lastly, 26, all at 8 p.m. on weekdays and at 3 p.m. on weekends. Tickets are available for KRW 15,000.
