Achasan (Acha Dağı)

“Acha Dağı” ardında ilginç iki hikaye vardır. Biri, ACHASAN’daki 아’nın güzellik demek olduğunu ve ACHASAN’ın güzel manzarası nedeniyle bu adı aldığını söyler.

Diğeri ise daha ilginçtir. ACHASAN'ın bulunduğu GURI Şehri’nde bir şaman vardı. GURI’nın adı Walkerhill (Yaya Tepesi)’nin arkasındaki dokuz vadiden gelir. Şaman, insanlar arasında zorbalık yapıyordu ve asiller ondan endişe etmeye başlamışlardı. Bazıları onun insanları aldattığını ve yalnız bırakılmaması gerektiğini, diğerleriyse onun güvenilir olduğunu söylüyorlardı. Şamanı test etmeye karar verdiler. Bir kutu içine fare koyup, kutuda ne olduğunu sordular. Şaman doğru cevap verdi. Herkes şaşırdı.

“İnanılmaz.”

Dedi herkes. Sonra kutuda kaç fare olduğunu sordular. Aldıkları cevap “7” idi. Bu sefer onlar şamanı alt etti. Kutuya sadece 1 tane fare koymuşlardı ve şaman yanılmıştı.

“Seni sahtekar. Orada sadece bir fare var. Sen ‘7’ dedin. Şimdi öldün.”

Bir memur:
“Kutuda ne olduğunu bilecek kadar zekiydi. Ona bir şans daha verelim ve farenin karnını açıp yavruları var mı diye bakalım.” dediğinde şamanı MISARI’de boğmaya karar vermişlerdi.

Fareyi incelediklerinde, farenin dişi olduğunu ve karnında 6 yavrusu olduğunu gördüler. Tüm bunlardan sonra, şaman haklıydı.

“Ne harika bir şaman! Ölmesine izin veremeyiz.”

Walkerhill (Yaya Tepesi)’nin arkasındaki vadiye bir elçi gönderdiler. Ama çok geçti. Şaman zaten boğulmuştu. Elçi bağırdı:
“Yazık! Çok geç! Ölmemeliydi!”

Dağın ACHA ismi de buradan gelir. Koreliler yanlış bir şey yaptıklarında “acha” derler; ama telafi etmek için artık çok geçtir.

Achasan (Acha Mountain)

There are two interesting stories behind the name 'Mountain Acha'. One explains that 아 in ACHASAN means beauty, and ACHASAN got its name because of its beautiful scenery.

The other explanation is more interesting. There was once a shaman somewhere in GURI city, where the mountain is located. GURI got its name from the nine valleys behind Walkerhill. The shaman wielded power among people, and the royals were concerned about her. Some said that she deceived people and so should not be left alone, and others said that she was trustworthy. They decided to test her, and put a mouse in a box and asked her what's in the box. She got it right, and all were surprised.

"It's unbelievable."

They all said, and asked again how many mice there were in the box. 'Seven' was the answer. This time, they got her. They put only one mouse in the box, and the shaman was wrong.

"You are a fake. There's only one mouse, and you say seven. Now you are dead."

They decided to drown her at MISARI, when an officer said:
"She was clever enough to know what's in the box, so let's give her another chance, and open the stomach of the mouse to see if the mouse is carrying litters."

When they examined the mouse, it turned out to be a female, and in her stomach were six litters. After all, the shaman was right.

"Oh, what a great shaman she is. We cannot let her die."

They sent a messenger to the valley behind Walkerhill, but it was too late. She was already drowned, and the messenger shouted:
"Alas, it's too late. She wasn't supposed to die."

That's how the mountain got the name Acha. Koreans say 'acha', when they did something wrong, but it was too late to recover.
