A Sister Who is a Fox / Tilki Kardeş

Üç oğulları olan ancak hâlâ kız çocuğu için dua eden bir çift yaşardı. Dilekleri gerçekleşti, kız çocukları oldu. Öyle mutluydular ki kızlarını iyi şekilde büyütmek için ellerinden geleni yaptılar.

Ancak kız doğduktan sonra tuhaf bir şeyler oldu. Birçok at tarlalarına gelip yavruladı ve taylar teker teker ölmeye başladı. Geceleyin, en büyük oğlan neler olduğunu anlamak için at ahırını izlemeye koyuldu.

Gece karanlığında kız kardeşinin çıkıp ahıra girdiğini gördü. Kız, elini atın anüsüne sokup bağırsaklarını çıkarıyor ve yiyordu. At düşüp öldü. Kardeşi tüm atları aynı şekilde öldürdü. En büyük oğlan hariç tüm aile fertlerini de aynı şekilde öldürdü. En büyük oğlan öyle korktu ki kaçmaya hazırlandı.

Kız kardeş bunu anladı ve:

“Nereye gidiyorsun, kardeşim? Beni de yanında götür.”

Abisi:
“Seni yanımda götüremem. Beni bekle. Yakında döneceğim.” dedi.

Ancak kız kardeşi onu takip etti.

Oğlan, kız kardeşinden kaçmak için koştu da koştu. Yakalanmak üzereyken, içinde aile mirasının bulunduğu üç şişe taşıdığını fark etti.

Birini kardeşine doğru attı ve oracıkta nehir oluştu. Ancak kız kardeş, nehri aştı ve takibe devam etti. Oğlan diğer şişeyi de attı ve bu sefer dikenlerle kaplı bir duvar oluştu. Fakat kız kardeş onu da aştı. Oğlan son şişeyi attı ve ateş çıktı ama işe yaramadı. Sonra kaynamış suyla dolu büyük bir torba buldu ve kızı içine attı. Kız kardeş orada yavaşça öldü.

Denildiğine göre kız kardeş Tanrı’nın cezasıydı çünkü diğer herkes erkek çocuk için dua ederken, bu aile kız çocuk için dua etti. Bu yüzden Tanrı onlara çocuk yerine tilki verdi.

There lived a married couple who had three sons but still prayed for a daughter. Their wish came true and the wife gave birth to a girl. They were so happy that they did their best to raise her well.

But a strange thing began to happen after the girl was born. Many horses were bred on their farm and they began to die one by one. One night, the eldest son watched the horse stable to find out what was happening.

In the middle of the night, he saw her sister come out of her room and go into the stable. She put her hand through a horse's anus, took out its bowels, and ate them. The horse fell dead. The sister eventually killed all the horses this way. And then she also killed her parents and other families except for the eldest son. The eldest son was afraid and prepared to run away.

The sister knew this. She said,

"Where are you going, brother? Take me with you."

The brother said,

"I can't take you with me. Wait for me. I'll come back soon."

But the sister followed him anyway.

The brother ran and ran in order to escape from the sister. Just as he was about to be caught, he realised that he was carrying three bottles which contained the treasures of the family.

He threw one of them at the sister and there appeared a river. But the sister crossed it and continual following him passed. He threw another and, this time, there appeared a wall of thorns. But the sister passed through it. The brother threw the last bottle and there appeared a fire, but it was no use. He then found a bag filled with boiled water and managed to put her in it. The sister eventually died in it.

It is said that the sister was God's punishment. It is because, while others pray for a son, her parents prayed for a daughter. Thus God sent them a fox instead of a human.
