Gas Prices Fall Below W2,000

South Korea (대한민국)

The price of regular gasoline nationwide has dropped below two-thousand won per liter for the first time in three months.

The Korea National Oil Corporation says regular gasoline edged down Monday morning point-85 won from Sunday to 19-hundred-98-point-77 won per liter.

Gas prices climbed for more than 100 days from January sixth and peaked at two-thousand-62 won on April 18th before sliding below two-thousand won on Sunday.

By region, regular gasoline was the cheapest at 19-hundred-69 won in Gwangju as of Sunday. Seoul is the most expensive at two-thousand-69 won.

The price of diesel fuel has also been falling since April 20th and now stands at just over 18-hundred won.

The shrinking prices at home are due to weakened global oil costs on the back of concerns over economic recovery and signs the euro zone fiscal crisis may spread.
