Pusan International Film Festival - PIFF 8 Ekim’de başlıyor.
Bu festival Asya kıtasının en büyük film festivali niteliğindedir.

Tanitim

The Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) ilk kez 1996 yilinda düzenlendi. Kore’de düzenlenmis olan ilk film festivali oldu. Asya’nin da bilinen en büyük kapsamli film festivalidir.

Busan bu festivalden sonra daha çok taninan ve bilinen bir sehir oldu. Kültür ve turizm açisindan önem kazandi.

Festivalde birçok uluslararasi yönetmen, yapimci görmek mümkündür. Kore kültürü ve Kore filmleri de çok iyi yansitilmistir.

Busan dünyadaki sinema ve film hayranlarini toplamayi basarmistir.

Introduction

The Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) was launched in 1996 and was the first film festival to ever take place in Korea. It is currently Korea’s largest film festival and is known as one of the most dynamic film festivals in the world, making it “the” film festival in Asia.

As a result, Busan has become known as a city of arts and culture, and these days has been attracting considerable international attention. PIFF has served to introduce many international producers and distributors to Korean films and Korean culture. Audiences of the festival are exposed to the work of emerging filmmakers as well as movies from established masters of the craft, and the festival has provided great opportunities for Asian filmmakers.

Busan will continue to focus its energies on PIFF in order to make the city a landmark destination for cinema fans. The festival will serve as a platform for film investors and sponsors, in order to further develop both the Korean and the Asian movie industries.

Netpac, Kore’de 1990 yilinda kurulmus olan uluslararasi bir kurulustur. Asya filmleri ile ilgilidir.
Bu kurum tarafindan yilin en iyi Kore filmine ödül verilecek.


----- KNN Ödülü
Festival süresi boyunca seyirciler tarafindan filmlere oylama yapilacak.
En çok oy alan filmin yönetmenine US$ 20,000 verilecek.

New Currents Award
This year’s New Currents Award is given to two best feature films selected from works of new Asian directors in New Currents section, the only competitive section of PIFF. The jury consisted of world-famous film experts will choose winner with the hopes to encourage continuous endeavor of discovering hidden jewels of Asian cinema, and US$30000 will be awarded to each film.


The Asian Filmmaker of the Year
This award is given to those who made important contribution to the advancement of Asian cinema during the year.


Korean Cinema Award
This award is presented to the individuals who have made outstanding contributions in promoting Korean cinema to the world film community.


Sonje Award
This award is given to the best Korean and Asian short films in Wide Angle section, to assist in producing another masterpiece by providing KRW 10,000,000 (approx. $10,000) for each director.


PIFF Mecenat Award
First introduced in this year, PIFF Mecenat Award is granted to the best Korean and Asian documentary films from Wide Angle section. A cash award of 10,000,000 KRW (approx. $10,000) is given to the each director for the purpose of assisting in the best production.


FIPRESCI Award
FIPRESCI Award (Prize of the International Film Critics) is granted annually at PIFF to a work among rising Asian directors including New Currents section for its experimental and progressive spirit.


Netpac Award
This award is given to the year’s best Korean film from either New Currents or Korean Cinema Today sections. NETPAC is an international organization founded in 1990 that is devoted to expansion of Asian film distribution and screening.


KNN Award
Voted by the audiences during the festival, this award is presented by KNN foundation to the most popular film from New Currents section. US$ 20,000 is awarded to its director.
