It was founded in 1994 by Dr. Taek-hee Lyu. The school flower is the chrysanthemum.

History

When it first opened its doors on March 5, 1994, the school was a technical college known as Far East Information College (극동정보대학). It became a university in 1998, and the first graduate programs began in 2000.
